Eight companion courses
From the first semester to the licensure exam
- Fundamentals and health assessment — the first two semesters, on the engine that will still be there at the end
- Pharmacology, taught as mechanisms rather than as a list to memorize and lose
- Medical-surgical nursing, the largest course in most programs and the largest slice of the exam
- Maternal-newborn and pediatric nursing, including the calculations that only appear there
- Mental-health nursing and therapeutic communication, practiced as conversation rather than read as theory
- Nursing leadership, delegation and management of care — which is also the exam’s biggest category
